Middle School Issue Birth Control Pills Sex Ed Education
   
We really need to start educating our young about sex and *adult education*. If churches and parents r not doing it, schools need to get involved.
I don't know if u guys have it here but I remember my teachers speaking freely of dating, sex education, rape risks, molest, stds, contraception, abortion and pregnancy in high schools (13 - 16 age range) as *moral education*. I feel young ppl who have such education r better equipped to handle with peer pressure and stress growing up, esp when teachers speak of them openly and students know where to go if they need help or advice.
I recalled one teacher who related a friend of hers who fell asleep on a bus and woke up to see a strange man molesting her on her knee (he was caressing it). Reaction : She took a paper clip (the hard thick ones) and straightened it and poked him savagely with it... and he left the bus she even spat on him.
Christians in this country don't want their kids to know any of this stuff before age 40. They don't want it taught at home, in churches, or in schools.
They think providing factual info about sex or drugs, condoms, and birth control, is same as giving kids permission to go start their own drug den and have unholy orgies.
They just don't get it. Meanwhile, the kids are learning it any way, and all halfassed, from other kids that discovered by doing. And when they get themselves in trouble, they get labeled by their parents as 'bad kids'.
Girls aren't even officially allowed to know babies come from human females till they are old enough to have their first period.
Boys are still not officially allowed to know till they hit a biology class in high school.
Until then, officially, all kids are supposed to think that the stork brings babies.
Then they get taught by their parents and churches that sex is bad & dirty and you are not supposed to enjoy it...and go on to have marriage problems because they have screwed up sexual attitudes and hangups.
And then the process gets repeated with their own kids.
This is what is meant by Christian Family Values™ in the US. And it is fully supported by George Bush and the rest of the Republican ilk.
